McAfee SaaS Email Protection Training Guide – Group Administrator Role
Proprietary and Confidential Page 5-1
5. Create & Manage Policy Overview
As a Group Administrator, you can modify or create email and web protection Policies if the group
you administer is the owner of the policy. Prior to modifying or creating a new Policy, you have to be
the Administrator of at least one group.
5.1. Group Administrator Policy Permissions
Policy Owners
When creating a policy, a policy Owner is selected. The owner will be either ‘Customer’ or a specific
‘Group’. I.e. each Policy is either a Customer level policy, or a Group level policy. You can manage
the policy only if you are an administrator of the Group that is the Policy Owner.
As a Group Administrator, you can:
• View, create, edit, and delete Email / Web Protection policies owned by a group of which you
are an administrator
• Subscribe one of your Groups to a policy you own
• Subscribe one of your Groups to a Customer level policy
• View the actions and details of customer-level policies, however you cannot make policy
changes on a customer-level policy
While you can subscribe your Group to a Customer level policy, you cannot make any other changes
to that policy, since you do not own it.
